Singapore stocks close 0.1 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 2.85 points, or 0.1 percent, to close at 2,881.79.

A total of 2.1 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 936.1 million Singapore dollars (683.3 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 236 to 169, while 501 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 13.8 points, or 0.48 percent, to close at 2,884.64 on Tuesday. Endit
