Tirana, Skopje ink twinning agreement to enhance cooperation

The capital cities of Albania and Macedonia, Tirana and Skopje, on Friday signed a twinning agreement to enhance cooperation.

The mayors of both cities signed the agreement, following which the two administrations will be engaged in expanding cooperation in different projects and fields.

Both mayors pledged to strengthen cooperation between cultural, scientific and educational institutions.

Tirana and Skopje will share experience and experts in relation to infrastructure, transportation, sustainable development, environmental protection, social protection, culture, sports and all other areas deemed of great interest of the two cities, Tirana municipality said.

The two mayors deemed the signing of this agreement as an important step towards closer cooperation between the capital cities.

Cooperation between capitals of Albania and Macedonia dates back to 1996. Endit
