Macedonian GDP up by 3.8 pct in 2015: data

The gross domestic product (GDP) of Macedonia at current prices in 2015 was 558,240 million denars (around 10.18 billion U.S. dollars), according to preliminary data issued by the State Statistical Office of Macedonia Friday.

Speaking in nominal terms, Macedonian GDP increased by 5.8 percent in comparison with 2014 while the real GDP growth rate for 2015 was 3.8 percent, data showed.

The GDP growth in 2015 was mainly driven by the sectors of wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transportation and storage, accommodation and food service activities.

The final consumption in 2015 increased by 3.6 percent in nominal terms compared with the previous year while its share in the structure of GDP was 85.1 percent.

The share of export of goods and services in GDP was 48.8 percent, according to the preliminary data.

On the other hand, the total value of gross fixed capital formation (GFCF) for 2015 was 129,095 million denars. (1 U.S. dollar=54.83 Macedonian denar) Endit
