Air China commences Beijing-Warsaw nonstop service

Xinhua, September 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, the inaugural Beijing-Warsaw flight of Air China landed at Warsaw Chopin Airport.

Chinese Ambassador to Poland Xu Jian along with Vice President of China National Aviation Holding Hou Xulun and Chief director of the Chopin Airport Mariusz Szpikowski took part in the official welcoming ceremony.

Hou Xulun said that Air China's Beijing-Warsaw service represents an important move to help build the "Aerial Silk Road" and to better respond to the demands of businessman and tourists of both countries.

Poland's important strategic position makes it a crucial link between the East and the West, Xu Jian said. He also expressed his hope that the new "Aerial Silk Road" would contribute to the social and economic development of the two countries, provide more travel options for passengers between China and Europe and further bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, cultural exchange and science and technology.

Szpikowski said that the establishment of a direct link between two countries' capitals is an important event for Chopin's airport and will bring considerable benefits for Warsaw and for Poland.

Air China announced that the Beijing-Warsaw route is its second nonstop long-haul international service linking China to Central and Eastern Europe. It will be operated four times a week by Airbus A330-200 passenger airplane. Endit
