Singapore stocks close 0.09 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 2.55 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 2,854.69.

A total of 1.40 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 927.8 million Singapore dollars (681.3 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 204 to 178, while 516 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 24.69 points, or 0.87 percent, to close at 2,852.14 on Monday. Enditem
