9.79 mln people make train trips on Mid-Autumn Festival

Xinhua, September 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

A total of 9.79 million train journeys were made by travellers during Thursday's Mid-Autumn Festival, up 26.3 percent year on year, said the China Railway Corporation on Friday.

The railway network expects 7.8 million people to make trips on Friday, the second day of the three-day holiday.

Some services in coastal areas ran at slow speeds, changed routes or were canceled due to gales and downpours caused by Typhoon Meranti.

The corporation said that China's rail traffic was generally steady and orderly. Endi
