Liu wins China's ninth table tennis gold at Rio Paralympics

Liu Meng secured China's ninth table tennis gold medal of the Rio Olympics by defeating compatriot Lei Lina in the women's singles class 9 final in Rio on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old, whose impairment was the result of a car crash, needed just 23 minutes to wrap up the match 3-0 (12-10, 13-11, 13-11) at Riocentro.

In the bronze medal duel, Poland's Karolina Pek came back from two sets down to beat Brazil's Danielle Rauen 3-2 (8-11, 8-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-5) in a match that lasted 39 minutes. Endit
