Five BiH companies among 50 biggest in the Balkans

Five companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) are included in the new list of the 50 largest companies in the Balkans, local media reported on Wednesday.

The French credit insurance group "Coface" has recently published this new list of the 50 largest companies in the Balkans on the basis of turnover.

BiH Public Enterprise Electric Utility (Elektroprivreda BiH) is the best ranked company from BiH, at the 26th place with total turnover of 486.9 million euros (about 545 million U.S. dollars). Compared to last year's list, Elektroprivreda BiH has advanced five positions.

When it comes to other companies from BiH, Holdina Ltd. Sarajevo is on the 31st place with a total turnover of 435.9 million euros, while Retail chain Konzum Ltd. Sarajevo is at 32nd position with the turnover of 434.6 million euros.

BiH retail chain Bingo is at 34th position with the total turnover amounting to 410.8 million euros. The fifth company from BiH on this list is Optima Group from Banja Luka, with a turnover of 359.8 million euros.

It is expected that economic activity in the Balkan region will be stable this year. (1 euro = 1.12 U.S. dollars) Endit
