Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Sudan's El-Fashir Wednesday on an official visit to participate in celebrations marking the implementation of a Doha-brokered peace deal signed in 2011.
Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, Chad's President Idriss Deby and President of Central African Republic Faustin-Archange Touadera will also take part in the celebrations.
Al-Bashir and Deby are scheduled to address a mass rally in El-Fashir, the capital town of North Darfur State.
The Darfur peace, known as Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD), was signed on July 14, 2011 between the government and the Liberation and Justice (LJM) led by El Tijani El-Sisi.
However, major movements such as Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) and Sudan Liberation movements, led by Abdul-Wahid Nur and Mini Arku Minawi, have not joined the agreement as yet. Endit
