1st LD: Khamenei says Iran cannot reach "understanding" with U.S.

Xinhua, August 31, 2016 Adjust font size:

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday that it would be a "mistake" to think that Iran and the United States would reach an "understanding and a common point."

"My insistence on avoiding negotiations with the United States is based on the experience that the Americans are after imposing their demands rather than reaching an understanding in the talks," Khamenei was quoted by his official website as saying.

The Iranian leader said that both of the main political parties in the United States "suffer from lack of moral qualifications, since both of them have committed myriad of crimes."

He accused the Democratic Party in the United States of supporting terrorist groups, saying that "the capital sin of the ruling party in the U.S. administration is the creation of the dangerous terror network" in the world. Endit
