Singapore stocks close 0.28 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 7.80 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 2,820.59.

A total of 876.8 million shares changed hands with turnover of 925.2 million Singapore dollars (679.1 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 195 to 168, while 545 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 1.04 points, or 0.04 percent, to close at 2,828.39 on Tuesday. Endit
