The following are news highlights in South Africa's major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- The political strife gripping government and the African National Congress (ANC), ratcheted up yet again on Monday, with the Treasury accusing electricity utility Eskom of covering for the Indian Gupta family, and the ANC deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte and Co-operative Governance Minister Desmond van Rooyen telling Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan that he should submit to questioning by police's special anti-crime unit the Hawks.
