Road accident in Portugal kills three people

Three people including two men and one woman were killed in a car accident on Monday in Palmela, about 42 km south of Lisbon, local media reported.

Another passenger was slightly injured in the accident, which took place in the early hours on Wednesday. The passenger was taken to hospital after the accident.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident. Firefighters and medical emergency vehicles were sent to the site after the accident.

Around 240 deaths were caused by road accidents in Portugal between January and July this year, official statistics show. Endit
