British FTSE 100 up 0.59 pct on Tuesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday closed at 6868.51 points, up 39.97 points or 0.59 percent.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 4.92 percent to top the gainers of the blue chips. Other best performers included Barratt Developments (4.90 percent), BHP Billiton (4.40 percent), Tesco (4.26 percent), and Persimmon (4.24 percent).

Mediclinic International led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 1.66 percent, followed by Shire (1.08 percent), British American Tobacco (0.79 percent), United Utilities Group (0.76 percent), and AstraZeneca (0.57 percent). Enditem
