The Russian Emergencies Ministry has delivered over 90,000 tons of humanitarian aid to 18 countries since 2015, the Russian news agency Sputnik reported Friday.

Russia has delivered the aid to countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Oceania and South America suffering from armed conflicts, earthquakes and flooding," it said.

Since August 2014, the ministry delivered over 63 tons of life-saving humanitarian cargo to Ukraine's southeast region of Donbass, which helped prevent a humanitarian catastrophe there.

According to the agency, Russia is also involved in providing laboratory equipment, medical equipment and supplies, as well as educational technology as part of humanitarian projects in Cuba, Tunisia, as well as other states.

Russia is one of the world's leading providers of humanitarian aid. The country has carried out about 400 humanitarian operations in various part of the world since 1993. Endi
