Local officials investigated for corruption

Two officials from Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces are being investigated for criminal charges of bribe-taking and embezzlement, China's Supreme People's Procuratorate said Friday.

Both Shao Yi, former director of Jiangsu Nonferrous Metals with East China Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau, and Ai Qihong, former deputy general manager of Guangdong GW Holdings Group Co., Ltd., were detained for being suspected of accepting bribes and embezzlement, respectively.

Guangdong GW Holdings Group Co., Ltd. is a large government-owned corporation of Guangdong Province specialized in trade of capital goods and other services such as logistics, e-commerce and commercial real estate.
