An armed man was shot dead by police in the western German city of Dortmund on Thursday, local media reported.

The 53-year-old man was supposed to be arrested by local prosecutors office with a warrant, for he had repeatedly committed internet frauds and misappropriated money from a sex worker, the office and the police said.

When the officers stormed his apartment, the man shot immediately and the police returned fire, in which he was killed and a police officer was slightly injured, according to the report. Endit
