The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Sunday.

-- Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande has postponed an announcement on a report from the Council on Higher Education on university fees in 2017 and is instead meeting students.

Nzimande received the report on Thursday, almost a year since students took to the streets in protest for free higher education in the Fees Must Fall campaign, and is now meeting the South African Union of Students, a federation of student representative councils from 26 universities. -- The South African National Civic Organisation in the North West Province on Saturday expressed concern of the alleged capture of mines around Rustenburg.

This follows allegations that the Department of Mineral Resources is involved in the capture of mines for the benefit of the JIC Mining Services. (News24)

-- The South African government on Saturday joined the international community in strongly condemning the wave of coordinated explosions across multiple cities in southern Thailand, including the tourism hotspots of Trang, Surat Thani, Hua Hin, and Phuket on Thursday night and Friday morning, which resulted in the death of at least four people and wounding of dozens more.
