world-renowned chefs gather in Singapore for food feast

World-renowned chefs gathered at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands to showcase fine food and wine at the Epicurean Market on Friday.
This is the fourth edition of Epicurean Market, which runs from August 12 to 14.
Taking place at the city state's most famous landmark, Epicurean Market offers the world's diverse flavours through dishes by celebrity chefs and renowned restaurants, gourmet produce and cheese, fine wines, spirits and sake, handcrafted cocktails, craft beers and more.
Ten celebrity chef restaurants will be holding court this year, with appearances from renowned chefs such as the world famous Tetsuya Wakuda and Daniel Boulud, acclaimed Singaporean chef Justin Quek and Los-Angeles based gypsy chef David Myers.
Ken Xu, who came from Beijing and is now chef with North restaurant in Macau, is this year's new star. He told Xinhua that he has prepared a variety of Chinese dishes, including Chaoshou, Sichuan's wonton in a spicy sauce, drunken chicken and prawn, as well as Xinjiang style grilled mutton.
Xu's restaurant has been open in Macau's Venetian for five years, and has become one of the most well-known restaurant which offers traditional Chinese food. "We've taken the traditional Chinese cuisine and culture to present to the people of Macau, and in the same way, we want to bring to the people of Singapore," he said.
Guests can also rub shoulders or snap a "selfie" with their culinary idols, and pick up tips from these masters and other experts at over 50 master classes.
Other key activities includes after parties featuring live DJ sets and cocktails from renowned mixologists, as well as a farmer's market with fresh produce and gourmet items curated by the Marina Bay Sands team and flown in from farmer's markets in Asia, Europe and North America.
"Epicurean Market has grown to become a significant event in Singapore's annual culinary calendar-- a three-day affair that not only showcases offerings from the world's most recognisable culinary names, but provides an immersive learning experience for guests through tastings, personal interaction and masterclasses with food and wine experts," said Mr Tamir Shanel, Vice President of F&B, Marina Bay Sands.
