Arab media due to tackle issues on terrorism in Jordan meeting

Over 700 Arab media professionals and artists will convene in Jordan on August 22 to discuss how media tackles terrorism-related issues during Jordan's third Arab Media Festival, according to Jordan's Media Commission (JMC).

"Media and drama professionals from across the Arab world will meet in Amman to further discuss new communication tools and technologies' impact on media content and changes observed in the field," JMC Director General Amjad Qadi told reporters Tuesday.

The festival, held in cooperation with Jordan's Artists Association and supported and sponsored by the Arab League, will also reveal sustainable development in the Arab world, he said.

Jerusalem through the Arab media's perspective is also on the festival's discussion topics agenda, he said, adding that the Arab world's best radio and television productions will be granted an award during the festival.

Another topic to be explored by participants and media professionals is Ethics in digital media, said Qadi.

Qadi then stated that next year's festival will be in Aqaba.

"Holding the festival at this crucial time during which the Arab world is facing several crises is a testimony to Jordan's willingness to improve media and the country's stability," said the official.

Experts, artists and media professionals from Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Qatar and other countries are expected to participate in the festival. Endit
