Table tennis Grand Slam winner Li Xiaoxia proved herself too strong even for a top-ten ranked opponent as the 28-year-old Chinese saw off Chinese Taipei's Cheng I-Ching 4-0 in Tuesday's women's singles quarterfinals at the Rio Olympic Games.
The Chinese women's head coach Kong Linghui called a timeout for Li when she led 3-0 of games and 10-6 in the fourth set, before Li came back to the court and wrapped it up 11-5, 11-5, 11-6, 11-6 without any hesitate.
Li's next match will pick up the winner between No. 2 seed Feng Tianwei of Singapore and the sixth-seeded Fukuhara Ai of Japan who play against each other later on Tuesday. Endit
