Germany's benchmark DAX index closes higher

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Monday went up and closed at 10,432.36 points.

Investors are still in a buying mood and the performance of financial stocks helped drive the DAX index up, according to local analysts. The DAX index added 65.15 points, or 0.63 percent.

Deutsche Bank topped the list of risers with an increase of 3.05 percent. Allianz advanced by 3.01 percent. Commerzbank climbed by 2.97 percent. The utilities company RWE added 2.22 percent and Linde, an industrial gas company, went up by 2.14 percent.

On the other hand, Merck, a science and technology company, lost 1.21 percent. Volkswagen slipped by 0.73 percent. Fresenius, a medical care company, dropped by 0.61 percent. Continental fell by 0.45 percent. BMW went down by 0.37 percent. Endit
