British FTSE 100 rises 0.23 pct on Monday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Monday rose by 0.23 percent, or 15.66 points, to 6809.13 points.

Share price of Royal Bank of Scotland increased by 3.65 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Barclays, Antofagasta, BHP Billiton and Marks & Spencer increased by 3.55 percent, 3.31 percent, 3.30 percent and 2.74 percent respectively.

Hikma Pharmaceuticals led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 4.22 percent, following by Shire (2.24 percent), Persimmon (1.68 percent), Compass Group (1.57 percent) and British American Tobacco (1.49 percent). Enditem
