Singapore stocks close 1.02 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 29.09 points, or 1.02 percent, to close at 2,827.58.

A total of 1.25 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.3 billion Singapore dollars (970.1 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 210 to 168, while 528 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 35.85 points, or 1.24 percent, to close at 2,856.67 on Tuesday. Endit
