Cambodia to spend 4 mln USD for high school exam

Xinhua, August 3, 2016 Adjust font size:

Cambodia will spend around 4 million U.S. dollars for organizing the high school graduation exam on Aug. 22 and 23, which will see 93,752 students sitting for the test, Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron said on Wednesday.

"We have planned to spend about 4 million U.S. dollars for the annual exam," he said in a press conference.

He said that some 13,000 invigilators and a few thousands of anti-corruption officials and volunteers will be deployed at all 157 exam centers with 3,781 rooms across the country to monitor the exam process.

Crib sheets, mobile phones, smart phones, and other electronic devices will not be allowed to be taken into the test rooms, the minister said, adding that applicants will be automatically failed if he/she is caught cheating.

The applicants will take the exam in seven subjects: geography, history, biology, foreign language, Khmer literature, mathematics and moral-civic education.

The exam is a prerequisite for students to pursue their studies at university levels.

The results of the test will be released on Sept. 13 and 14. Enditem
