South Korean Olympic cyclist Kim Ok-cheol suffered scratches and grazes after being knocked off his bike while training ahead of the Rio Games on Tuesday.
Police said the 21-year-old was struck by the rearview mirror of a car during a practice session at the Tijuca national park.
He did not need to be taken to hospital for treatment.
"It was a minor incident with light scratches," police spokesman Jose Macedo was quoted as saying by the Uol news portal.
South Korean officials said Kim, a team pursuit bronze medalist at this year's Asian championship, would be fit to compete in the Olympics road race, starting Saturday.
"The team doctor said he will be ok to participate in the Games," said Park Dong Hee, the chief of the South Korean delegation. Endit
