Violence, militancy claim 8 lives in Pakistan

At least eight people including a policeman were killed and four others injured in three separate incidents of firing in south and northwest Pakistan on Tuesday, local Urdu media reported.

Samaa News reported that a policeman was killed and two others were injured when some unknown militants attacked their vehicle in Swabi district of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The militants ambushed the police vehicle and fled the scene after carrying out the attack.

Separately, two bullet-riddled bodies were found in the capital city Peshawar of the province in the morning.

In another incident in the country's southern port city of Karachi, police found two bullet-riddled bodies at the Hawksbay road area.

Two more people were killed and two women injured in firing by unknown gunmen in Memon Goth area of Karachi, the capital city of the country's south Sindh province.

A 12-year-old boy was killed when some unknown gunmen opened fire in a shoe market of the city, and fled the scene.

No group or person claimed responsibility for any of the attacks yet.

The injured people were shifted to nearby hospitals. Endit
