Schalke loan Ghana international Baba from Chelsea

Xinhua, August 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

Schalke have sealed the loan deal with Chelsea's Abdul Rahman Baba, the "Royal Blues" confirmed on Tuesday.

After passing the medical on Sunday, Schalke have completed the season-long loan deal with defender Abdul Rahman Baba, who is the fifth summer transfer for the upcoming Bundesliga season.

"Abdul is a strong offensive left-back," Schalke coach Markus Weinzierl told the club's official homepage. "I am absolutely convinced of his qualities. His attitude will do the team good."

The 22-year-old new arrival knows the Bundesliga as he already played from 2012 until 2014 for lower league side Greuther Fuerth before he joined Augsburg. He made overall 51 appearances in Germany's top flight.

In August 2015 Baba moved to Premier League outfit Chelsea where he made only 15 competitive outings.

Abdul Rahman Baba received the jersey number 14 and will join his new teammates in the trainings camp in Mittersill, Austria soon.
