Cabin crew strike costs Air France 90 mln euros

Xinhua, August 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

A week-long strike of cabin crew would cost France's flagship carrier Air France 90 million euros (100.74 million U.S. dollars), the airline's chief executive Frederic Gagey said on Tuesday.

"It's a very large sum equivalent of the value of a long-haul aircraft," Gagey told France info radio.

According to Gagey, the strike has affected around 180,000 people.

SNPNC-FO and Unsa-PNC, two airline unions, called for a strike from July 27 to August 2.

On Tuesday, 90 percent of the airline's flights are running, including all its long-haul flights and 85 percent of its short and medium-haul flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. Enditem
