Mideast states turn into major users of Spanish weapons

Morocco came as second major consumer of Spanish weaponry in Africa in 2015, local media reported on Tuesday.

According to figures released by the daily Akhbar Al Yaoum, Morocco spent 45.2 million euros in 2015 on Spanish weapons.

The figure was only 11.6 million euros in 2014, the same source noted.

Egypt bought more Spanish weapons than any other African nation in 2015 with 106 million euros, while Saudi Arabia was the top client of Spanish arms with 546 million euros. Enditem
