Guardiola registers first victory in Manchester City

Thanks to Sergio Aguero' s goal and keeper Angus Gunn' s save in the penalty shoot-out, Pepe Guardiola bagged his win in Manchester City after overcame German side Borussia Dortmund 7-6 here in the ICC International Champions Cup here on Thursday.

Sergio Aguero latched on to David Silva's pass across the face of goal for a simple tap-in into an empty net in the 79th minute.

Christian Pulisic equalized in the injury time for the German side as he collected Shinji Kagawa's pass and beat Gunn with a side-footed effort.

The match went into penalty shoot-out and both sides missed their first and sixth round.

Gunn made a crucial save against Mikel Merino in the eighth round to send Dortmund sudden death.

"Today we beat one of the best teams in Europe, that is why I am so happy," Guardiola said at the post-match press conference.

"The beginning of our new season will be tough, it is very difficult to create something new and we need time," the Spaniard added. Endit
