China expects India to maintain border peace, stability

Xinhua, July 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

China hopes India will jointly maintain peace and stability along its border, a Defense Ministry spokesperson said Thursday.

"We hope India will continue to implement the consensus reached between leaders of the two countries about the border issue," said Yang Yujun, spokesperson with the Ministry of Defense, commenting on reports regarding India's construction projects in Ladakh in Indian-controlled Kashmir.

China's border troops continue to adhere to bilateral agreements and do not cross over from China-controlled border areas, Yang said.

"China and India are neighbors and partners, not foes and rivals. It is the common wish of Chinese and Indian people to maintain peace and stability along the border," he said. Endi
