Singapore stocks close 0.27 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 8.05 points, or 0.27 percent, to close at 2,941.49.

A total of 991.1 million shares changed hands with turnover of 818.5 million Singapore dollars (603.2 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 212 to 182, while 513 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 3.59 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 2,933.44 on Tuesday. Endit
