Deposit interest rates in Albania fall to new low

The average interest rate in domestic currency deposits fell to a historical low of 0.8 percent in May in Albania, Albanian Daily News reported Saturday.

The fall was due to monetary stimulus and growing liquidity on the financial market.

The interest rate for deposits in the euro stayed at 0.2 percent, according to data from the Bank of Albania.

The average interest rate of new loans in lek also dipped to a new low of 7.3 percent, while for loans in the euro, the rate was 4.2 percent. Endi
