Singapore stocks close 0.31 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 9.22 points, or 0.31 percent, to close at 2,919.54.

A total of 1.26 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 934.6 million Singapore dollars (692.3 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 232 to 158, while 515 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 13.41 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 2,928.76 on Monday. Endit
