The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) looked set for another day of gains on Tuesday as global stock markets took their lead from Wall Street whose S&P 500 closed 0.34 percent higher at a record 2,137 points on Monday.

The JSE's gains over the past three trading days have left its all share index just 3 percent short of recouping all its losses from June 24's Brexit crash.(Business Day)

-- The rand managed to go below the R16 to the euro level on Monday. The last time the rand had managed to reach below R16 - at R15.9173 - to the euro was on December 9,2015, the day former Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene was fired.(Fin24)

-- It has emerged that a faulty signal on an SA-Airlink flight from Cape Town to Pretoria is to blame for a false report that the plane was under attack.
