Bangladesh takes extra security measures in all domestic, int'l airports

Xinhua, July 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Bangladeshi government as part of its efforts to thwart any untoward terrorist incident has taken extra security measures in all domestic and international airports including main Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in capital Dhaka.

Bangladeshi Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon told journalists on Tuesday that the extra security measures have been taken in the wake of the two recent terrorist attacks -- one in Dhaka's diplomatic enclave Gulshan and the other near the country's largest Eid congregation venue.

He said general passengers may have to face some inconvenience due to extra security measures.

"We hope they (passengers) will understand the situation and accept this for the greater interest of the country."

The minister did not elaborate on the extra security measures. Enditem
