Peace and security expert to become Ghana's deputy FM

Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has nominated peace and security expert Emmanuel Bombande as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, a release from the presidency said here on Monday.
Bombande was former Executive Director for the West African Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP), an organization that works with the sub- regional bloc on peace-building initiatives.
Currently the Special Adviser to the UN General Secretary's Special Representative to West Africa, Bombande has worked previously on the UN Advisory Team in Ghana and advised the government of Ghana on various conflict prevention strategies, including the development of peace architecture for Ghana.
He served also as a lead mediator in many community-based mediation efforts in West Africa.
Bombande also teaches various peace building courses in different institutions, including the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Accra-Ghana, the University of Ghana's Legon Centre for International Affairs (LECIA) and the Folke Bernadotte Academy in Sweden
A statement signed by the Minister for Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, also announced the nomination of Joseph Agmor Tetteh as Deputy Minister for the Eastern Region, and John Oti Bless as Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development. Endit
