Eurozone household saving rate stable at 12.9 pct in Q1

The household saving rate in the eurozone was 12.9 percent in the first quarter of 2016, stable compared with the fourth quarter of 2015, figures indicated on Monday.

Meanwhile, the household investment rate in the eurozone was 8.5 percent in the first three months of this year, also stable compared with the previous quarter.

Compared with data released on April 28, 2016, the household saving rate for the fourth quarter of 2015 has been revised from 12.7 percent to 12.9 percent. The household investment rate for the same quarter has been revised from 8.4 percent to 8.5 percent.

The figures are derived from the first release of quarterly European sector accounts by the statistical office of the European Union, Eurostat, and the European Central Bank. Endite
