Xinhua, July 7, 2016 Adjust font size:

BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle brand of German car producer BMW Group, reported here on Thursday it sees "considerable growth potential" in Chinese market.

According to the Bavarian producer, the Chinese market is continuing to show a dynamic increase in sales, which increased by 74.3 percent to 2,388 vehicles compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad announced it had achieved record sales figures in the first half of the year, selling over 80,000 vehicles for the first time.

A total of 80,754 motorcycles and maxi scooters have been delivered in the first six months, an increase of 3.0 percent year on year. In June alone, BMW Motorrad delivered 14,993 vehicles worldwide, according to BMW statistics.

"As of June 2016 we were able to set our fourth six-month record in succession, at the same time supplying more than 80,000 motorcycles and maxi scooters to our customers by the middle of the year. Based on this positive development, we will now strive to achieve another sales record for the year as a whole," Heiner Faust, head of sales and marketing at BMW Motorrad, stated. Endit
