Spanish stock market falls 1.75 pct, closes at 7,926 points

The Spanish stock market index Ibex-35 fell 1.75 percent on Wednesday to close at 7,926.20 points, down from the 8,067.60 points of Tuesday.

On Wednesday's session, IAG shares led falls plummeting 7.47 percent, followed by Banco Popular, Bankia, Banco Sabadell, Merlin and Tecnicas Reunidas that sunk 4.36 percent, 3.80 percent, 3.78 percent, 3.63 percent and 3.22 percent, respectively.

Only Mediaset shares rose, climbing 0.32 percent.

Spain's risk premium closed at 135.20 points and Spain's 10-year bond interest rate closed at 1.179 percent, both showing no big differences when compared with Tuesday. Endit
