Togo to hold memorial service in honour of peacekeepers killed in Mali

Xinhua, July 5, 2016 Adjust font size:

A national memorial service will be held on Friday in honour of five Togolese peacekeepers who died on May 29 in Mali, an official source said Monday.

The five soldiers were killed in an ambush in Sevare, northern Mali.

The memorial service will be an opportunity for the Togolese people to pray for the eternal peace of the souls of the five peacekeepers.

Togo sent 1,000 soldiers to Mali under the auspices of UN Peacekeeping Mission in Mali to restore stability and peace in the northern and central regions. Enditem
