The following are news highlights in South Africa's major media outlets on Tuesday.
-- Brexit will have limited affect on the sovereign credit ratings of South Africa and other countries in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, ratings agency Fitch said in a research note released on Monday night.
"Short-term effects could come via market volatility, while a slowdown in British and European growth could weigh on MEA economies at a time of already heightened strains," Fitch's senior director of sovereign ratings, Jan Friederich, wrote in the note. (Business Day)
-- Insufficient immigration control, high levels of violence against women and children, an uneven quality of schools, a non-transparent tendering process, widespread corruption, and poor police performance are some of the descriptions of South Africa contained in the 2016 biennial report on the Implementation of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (Agoa) released late last mongth by the United States.
