The security subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine has agreed on separating forces on the dividing line in two areas of the Donbas region, special representative of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), said Wednesday.
"I am pleased to note that all the parties reached an agreement in principle to withdraw forces and means in two places: Zolotoye and Petrovskoye," Martin Sajdik told reporters, adding that talks on this issue would continue.
The working group on economic affairs mainly discussed the theme of restoring the railway infrastructure. Social payments and property-related issues were also in the spotlight, he said.
Sajdik also said the supply of coal was partially resumed from certain districts of Donetsk Oblast to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.
He said this was very important for electricity production. There was a need to formulate a clearer mechanism for transport of coal in the future, he added.
The Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine is due to hold its next meeting in Minsk on July 13. Endit
