18 killed in road accidents in Pakistan

At least 18 people were killed and over 30 others injured in two separate road accidents in northwest and southwest Pakistan on Monday, local Urdu media reported.

Samaa News said that a passenger bus carrying over 40 people fell into a ravine while negotiating a sharp turn in Khuzdar district of the country's southwest Balochistan province.

The accident left 11 people killed and 25 others injured who were shifted to a nearby hospital.

The ill-fated bus was on its way to provincial capital of Quetta to the country's southern port city of Karachi.

In a separate accident, seven people were killed and five others injured in a van-car collision in Swat district of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital. Endit
