Borussia Dortmund have signed Raphael Guerreiro from French top-flight club Lorient, the eight times German champions confirmed in an official statement on Thursday.

The 22-year-old defender, who is playing at the EURO 2016 in France, has joined the "BVB" after signing a four-year deal, which keeps him in Dortmund until June 2020.

"Raphael Guerreiro is a technically skilled player who can play on several positions. We are delighted that he opted for Dortmund," sporting director Michael Zorc told the club' s official homepage.

According to German media report, Dortmund paid a transfer fee of 12 million Euros. The new arrival made overall 102 appearances and provided ten goals for Lorient.

Guerreiro is Dortmund' s sixth summer transfer, after Marc Bartra, Emre Mor, Sebastian Rode, Ousmane Dembele and Mikel Merino, who will reinforce the Bundesliga runner up for the upcoming season. Endit
