Singapore stocks close 0.82 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 22.69 points, or 0.82 percent, to close at 2,751.56.

A total of 890.1 million shares changed hands with turnover of 964.4 million Singapore dollars (713.8 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 287 to 130, while 488 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 5.92 points, or 0.21 percent, to close at 2,774.25 on Wednesday. Enditem
