Ghana's military command hunts for soldier allegedly linked to ISIS

Xinhua, June 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

Ghana's Military High Command is said to be on a manhunt for one of its soldiers allegedly linked with the terrorist group, ISIS.

Private Bawa Abdul Rahman, 26, was said to have vanished after his commanders invited him for questioning and further investigations, local Citi News reported here Wednesday.

According to reports reaching the local radio from within the military, Rahman, 1.7 meters tall, jumped out of the vehicle that was sending him to his bosses for a military inquisition.

It is unclear yet how long he has been in touch with ISIS or whether he has already been recruited.

The Public Affairs Directorate of the military has declined to comment on the matter.

A few months ago, the national security presented a report to the Education Ministry, warning it about activities of ISIS on the various tertiary institutions, recruiting interested candidates. Endit
