Spanish stock market rises 1.53 pct, closes at 8,250 points

The Spanish stock market index Ibex-35 climbed 1.53 percent on Wednesday to close at 8,250.80 points, up from the 8,126.70 points of Tuesday.

On Wednesday's session, Banco Popular shares led rises spiking 5.71 percent, followed by Inditex, ArcelorMittal, Gamesa, Sacyr and DIA that rose 5.50 percent, 3.54 percent, 3.0 percent, 2.58 percent and 2.33 percent respectively.

On the other hand, Abertis A shares led falls losing 1.09 percent, followed by Tecnicas Reunidas, Merlin, Enagas, ACS and Endesa which lost 0.76 percent, 0.71 percent, 0.57 percent, 0.29 percent and 0.26 percent respectively.

Meanwhile, Spain's risk premium closed at 157.70 points and Spain's 10-year bond interest rate closed at 1.57 percent, both showing no big differences when compared with Tuesday. Endit
