British FTSE 100 rose 0.73 pct on Wednesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday rose by 0.73 percent, or 43.27 points, to 5,966.80 points.

Share price of Glencore increased by 6.52 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Antofagasta, Anglo American, BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto increased by 6.39 percent, 5.25 percent, 4.09 percent and 3.90 percent respectively.

Whitbread led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 1.56 percent, followed by Taylor Wimpey (1.39 percent), Paddy Power Betfair (1.28 percent), Berkeley Group Holdings (1.20 percent) and Royal Dutch Shell B (0.95 percent). Endit
